HISTORY: First registered in March 1998, the current owner purchased it from a fellow enthusiast in April 2016 and has since covered around 47000 miles. All the electrics function properly, heated front seats, sunroof, door mirrors, cruise control and original radio/stereo. There are receipts for the work listed below along with stamped service history from earlier years, the last owner was a specialist Volvo garage and looked after it in his own workshops. The MOT history runs from June 2005 and confirms the mileage, which averages out at just over 9000 a year. Mechanically it is very good as is often the case with a well-maintained average mileage car.
MAIN FEATURES & EQUIPMENT:
The V70R is very well specified, this one particularly so, with many valuable features and excellent maintenance. Summary as follows, in no particular order:
Rare 5 speed FWD manual transmission.
Professionally installed LPG system fitted in 2018 by Avon Autogas with a 60-litre tank fitted into the spare wheel well. Instantly switchable to petrol, the system gives excellent economy without any significant loss of performance. The system has just been serviced with software update.
Fitted 4 new Michelin PS4 tyres in 2024 with only around 5000 miles since covered.
New Borg & Beck brake discs and pads all round, fitted less than 2000 miles ago.
Complete new Koni suspension installed in 2020, supplied by PFV. To correct original “R” specification (original Volvo parts were no longer available).
New battery fitted September 2025 with 5 year warranty.
The air conditioning/climate control system was overhauled/rebuilt in July 2021, along with the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) kit. Fully functioning.
The headlining (which had sagged during the hot summer) has just been professionally replaced at considerable expense, so is as new.
New alternator fitted in 2023.
New heater matrix and new front brake calipers fitted in 2021.
The ABS pump was rebuilt in October 2022.
New radiator, expansion tank and coolant fitted in October 2024.
Fitted with a complete Ferrita stainless steel exhaust system including downpipe.
High specification includes electronic climate control, cruise control, traction control, tilt and slide electric sunroof, heated and electrically adjusted front seats with memory function and lumbar support adjustment.
EXTERIOR CONDITION:
Generally very good with only minor blemishes commensurate with age and mileage.
The alloy wheels are in excellent condition and there are 3 spare wheels included.
INTERIOR CONDITION:
Clean and undamaged. Previous owners were non-smokers.
OTHER KNOWN ISSUES: Missing button on rear electric window switch and some of the radio button lights don’t light up.
